Overview
Interactive installation exploring how human emotions can influence and reshape the surrounding environment.
Using real-time facial tracking and emotion recognition, the installation responds to the viewer’s smile by triggering the gradual blooming of generative floral compositions inspired by natural growth systems.
Positive emotional input becomes a catalyst for visual transformation activating movement, light, and evolving organic forms across the digital space. Positioned between affective computing and poetic interaction design, the work reflects on the relationship between internal emotional states and external reality. Rather than treating emotion as invisible data, Motion of Emotion transforms it into an immersive visual language.
Built in TouchDesigner, the installation combines facial detection, smile intensity analysis, real-time generative systems, and randomized behavioral algorithms, ensuring that every interaction produces a unique visual outcome.
As the final layer of the experience, each participant receives a personalized generative flower artwork derived from their own interaction, delivered digitally via QR code extending the ephemeral moment into a personal digital artifact.
Exhibited at Art Show 2025.
